How does the radius of the nucleus compare to the total size of the atom? The radius of the nucleus is very small, usually around 1/10,000th of the radius of the entire atom, typically about 10^{-15} metres.
What particles make up the nucleus, and what is their charge? The nucleus is made up of protons (positively charged particles) and neutrons (neutral particles), giving the nucleus an overall positive charge.
